The above quote was from a radio interview. I don’t think anybody could
say it any better. That quote is the very embodiment of why I support
Ron Paul to the very end.

If you find yourself dismayed and at a loss with Romney’s suspended
campaign, please please take a close look at Ron Paul. If you have any
doubts about him or any compelling reason not to support him I would
certainly appreciate the chance to look into them, for my own
enlightenment as well as yours. One friend of mine brought up a concern
that, given any merit, would deeply concern myself as well. I spent
many hours that evening looking into it, at the expense of
homework, and came up convinced that the allegations were nothing but
misrepresentation and slander.

If you wonder what could be done at this point with most primaries
already passed, just drop me a line. There is work to be done.

Could you elaborate on what the doubt brought up was and what sources helped you to debunk it?

Jacob, sure, no problem. I almost put it in the post, but it would have been no more than highlighting the doubt without going into the meat of it and why it was FUD. Since that wasn't what the post was about I decided to leave it out. That said, Jayce, after a lively Ron Paul discussion on plug, sent me a pm about his views on Ron Paul. A few were just matters of policy and opinion, but one was an allegation that he is (or was) a racist. To Jayce's credit, he said he hadn't looked into it and it was just something he would have to investigate before supporting Ron Paul, but since he was already so much aligned to Romney it was a non issue. Well, I looked into the racist thing, and it was basically no more than a newsletter under Paul's name, but for which Paul did no writing. I just realized this is going to be pretty long, so bear with me. First I googled Ron Paul Racist to see what it was all about. What came up was all these news articles quoting snippets of an article in the aforementioned newsletter. I read the articles and what they had to say, what they said that Paul had to say, then what Paul himself had to say. Basically Ron Paul took "moral responsibility" for what was written under his name, and for not keeping tabs on the newsletter, but that he himself does not nor ever did agree with the racist sentiments in the newsletter. What was particularly interesting was how these allegations _re_surface now when he's running for office just as they did years ago when he was also running for office. That gives you an idea of the nature of the allegations which is simply mudslinging. Ok, almost done. After looking into the issue on whether Paul is a racist I decided to dig even deeper. I dug up the full article from which snippets were quoted. As you might guess, the snippets themselves lacked a bit of context. That doesn't excuse the "colorful" language they used. But if you're interested I would encourage you to read the entire article as I did. It's about the Los Angeles riot. Read it objectively, and look past the colorful language, you may find as I did that the article brings to bear some pretty deep points, and at the heart the article is pretty well aligned with Ron Paul's platform. Now please please don't just look at this last statement and think "well Ron Paul agrees with a racist article". To the legwork and get to the meat of the article. Then let me know what you think ;)
